The Gilded Margin

This week, I joined my local ladies group on Facebook for a script tattoo day, and I finally added one word that’s followed me through every chapter of my life:

Resilient.

It’s more than a tattoo. It’s a reminder.

Life hasn’t always been easy. Between loss, raising kids, rebuilding, career changes, caring for animals, and learning to keep moving forward even when it would have been easier to quit, resilience has quietly become part of who I am.

Not because I wanted difficult seasons…
…but because life kept asking me to grow through them.

I couldn’t have asked for a better artist. Leroy Gines, owner of Toxic Vanity, brought this piece to life with clean, beautiful script while tattooing out of Lifetime Body Art in Fort Worth, Texas. He has done every one of my tattoos, and once again, he absolutely nailed it.

What made the day even better was sharing the experience with an amazing group of women. There’s something special about celebrating milestones—big or small—with people who encourage you to keep becoming the person you’re meant to be.

Sometimes healing looks like therapy.
Sometimes it looks like coffee with friends.
And sometimes…
it looks like one meaningful word written in ink.

Here’s to embracing every chapter.
