Today we’re celebrating Bacon’s Gotcha Day!

When Bacon joined our family, I never imagined how much personality could fit into such a tiny shell. From determined little adventures around the enclosure to judging all of my life choices with that unmistakable tortoise stare, he’s become one of the sweetest members of our crew.

To celebrate, Bacon got his very own birthday hat… and tolerated it for approximately the amount of time you’d expect from a tortoise. I think the photos speak for themselves.

One of my favorite parts of sharing my life here is showing that families come in all shapes, sizes, and species. Every animal has its own quirks, routines, and little moments that make life a little brighter.

Happy Gotcha Day, Bacon! Here’s to many more years of sunshine naps, fresh greens, and slow-but-steady adventures.
